To truly appreciate hip-hop, one has to go back and listen to the pioneers that began the genre. To honor this, I'll be spending March selecting classic hip-hop songs. There really is no better place to start than with the Sugarhill Gang. This song was the first big hip-hop hit, successfully combining disco with rap.
